Ella Boyce Lundquist passed away unexpectedly from this life on May 3, 2017, in Casper, Wyoming. She was born December 15, 1936, in Caddo Mills, Texas, the daughter of Edward and Ruby Boyce. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson "Big Ben" Vann, her sister Pat Belcher, and brothers Don Edward, Willis and Eddie Boyce. She graduated from Greenville High School, received her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Counseling from East Texas State University. She is survived by her daughter, Keli Vann of Casper, Wyoming; her sister Nikki Melendez (Blue) of Greenville, Texas, her great grandson Benito Vann (Chelsea) and great great grandson Jayson of Culbertson, Montana. Ella was a very dynamic person who never met a stranger and would have given her last dime to a TOTAL stranger if they were in need. She spent her life helping others and was always for the underdog. Ella was champion for children. She always hired kids in her neighborhood to instill a good work ethic and a sense of responsibility. Ella was a person of many talents and always traveled to the beat of a different drum. There were so many things that held her interest…for a season. She was a poet, an artist, singer, dancer and an amazing writer. Ella was always ready for an adventure. Whether she was on a bush plane in Alaska or at The Governor's Ball, she was always the star of the show. She loved swimming, camping, boating and any activity outdoors; but dancing was her favorite. Her last few weeks of rehab she was working as hard as she could to get out of her wheelchair to dance one more time. She wasn't able to reach her goal, but she is now dancing pain-free in Heaven. Ella was a Christian, saved and baptized at Park Street Baptist Church in Greenville which always held a special place in her heart. Ella requested to be cremated and scattered in the Platte River in Wyoming where she felt very free and had much fun floating in the sun. Although our hearts are broken and there is a huge hole in the world, we will rejoice in the fact that we see her again soon. Rest in peace, sweet Ella.
