Pedro Villasenor passed away on June 7, 2018 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kerrville.
Pedro was born on January 18, 1923 in San Antonio to Rafael Villaseñor and Fracisca Garcia. He joined the United States Navy and served during WWII. He married Hilaria Ramos in 1945 at St. John’s Church in Hondo. They settled in San Antonio and had two children, one son and one daughter who were their greatest pride. Pedro was an aircraft instrument panel electronics technician at Kelly Air Force Base and retired after over 30 years of service.
Pedro enjoyed a long life full of love and family. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He loved a good book, a good political debate and dessert with every meal. He instilled a strong sense of discovery, educational excellence
and civic duty in his family. Pedro never met a stranger and had more than enough jokes to share with all. He carried this enduring spirit with him as he battled Alzheimer’s disease for over a decade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years and his grandson Adrien Benavidez.
Pedro is survived by his daughter, Cynthia and husband Eliodoro Benavidez of Kerrville, Texas; his son, Peter Villasenor and wife Lynn of Fairfax, Virginia; and by four grandchildren, Valerie Benavidez, Jonathan Villasenor, Christopher Villasenor and Jaqueline Huff; and nine great-grandchildren, Charles Benavidez, Elio Benavidez Fisher, Ana Lucia Benavidez Fisher, Jacob Villasenor, Samuel Villasenor, Nathan Villasenor, Drake Villasenor, Madeline Huff and Charles Huff.
The family would like to express our deepest appreciation for the wonderful team at Hilltop Nursing Home including Marcello, Rebecca and Fran, in addition to the many friends who kept a loving and watchful eye over him.
Private services to be held at a later date.
