Babe Ruth Davis, age 89 of Rockdale, passed away Monday night, August 20, 2018 in St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock, Texas.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Matt Higginbotham officiating. Burial, also on Tuesday, will be 2:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at the funeral home in Rockdale.
Babe Ruth was born August 28, 1928 in Bedias, Texas to Ruben Asbury and Carrie Eva (Dix) Hadaway. She was one of six children. On April 29, 1946, she and Harold Davis were married in Houston, Texas. She was a homemaker and has lived in Rockdale the past 24 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Davis; daughter, Gale Lawson; sisters, Mary Lou Gordon and Ruby C. March; and brothers, Thurman Hadaway, R.A. Hadaway, Jr., and Jimmy Earl Hadaway.
Surviving are his children, Ronald Davis of Katy, Barbara Jean Davis of New Braunfels and Gary Wayne Davis of Austin; four grandchildren, Greg Davis of Houston, Jennifer Davis of Dallas, Kimberly Lawson Temple of Phoenix, Arizona and Aubrey Lorraine Singelmann of Nashville, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Kylie Wade Tyler of Houston, Presley Davis of Houston, Mackenzie Temple of Phoenix, Arizona, Noah Isaac Singelmann of Nashville, Tennessee and Brellia Grace Singelmann of Nashville, Tennessee.
Pallbearers are, Eric Anderson, Cody Crisp, Antonio Perez, David Scardino, Jacob Singelmann, Greg Davis.
