Joyce Magee, age 81 of Milano, passed away at her home on Friday, August 31, 2018.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2018 in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, Texas. Pastor Matt Higginbotham of First Baptist Church in Rockdale will officiate. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Visitation will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joyce Magee was born April 8, 1937 at home in Milam County, Texas to Milton Monroe and Maudie Novella (Shuffield) Mullinax. She was a graduate of Yoe High School in Cameron. She and Craig E. Magee, Jr. were married August 6, 1954 in the Battetown Baptist Church in Cameron. She was a homemaker and had worked in a sewing factory for many years and then ten years at Coffield Lumber Company in Rockdale. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale. Joyce enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, canning and pickling. She especially enjoyed being with her children and all of their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton on 1984 and Maudie Mullinax in 1991; her husband Craig E. Magee, Jr. on October 31, 2009; and a brother, Elmer Ray Mullinax.
Surviving are, sons, James Magee and wife Millie of Cameron, Dennis Magee and wife Lillie of Milano and Leslie Magee and wife Maria of Rockdale; daughter, Sharon Garza and husband Arthur of Rockdale; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Garza, Jarrell Garza, DJ Magee, Austin Dodds, Scott McLerran and Chris Huff.
