Arlene Lorraine Thompson, 89, of Shamrock, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in Amarillo.
Services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Mark Howard, officiating. Burial will follow at Plymouth Cemetery in Samnorwood.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Arlene was born on May 18, 1929 in Englewood, CO to Walter James and Goldie Mae Brodrich Pullum. She married Luther Thompson on June 24, 1949 in Samnorwood, they were married for 56 years before his death. She was a resident of Canadian before moving to Shamrock, 20 years ago. She was a secretary at Bartlett’s Lumber, where she worked alongside of her husband for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shamrock, where she was an Awana’s leader. She was very active in the church and the 42 club. She enjoying cooking, fishing, spending time with her grandkids, gardening, and watching her kids and grandkids play sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons Larry and Michael; a daughter Machelle; and a sister Pauline.
Survivors include one son Gary Lynn Thompson and his daughter Jennifer and her husband Derek and their three sons Lane, Luke, and Bo; two brothers LeRoy Pullum and wife Mary and Sammy Pullum and wife Jeanne; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be sent to Plymouth Cemetery in Samnorwood.
