Cirilo "Tio Chiro" Reyes-Banda, age 78 of Rockdale, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his home in Rockdale.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be in the Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Villa Juarez, Mexico at a later date.
Tio Chiro Reyes-Banda was born March 18, 1940 in Buena Vista Villa Juarez, S.L.P., Mexico to Francisco and Juana (Banda) Reyes. He worked as a horse trainer for Tommy Morgan until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. On May 21, 1961, he and Maximina Reyes Baez were married in Villa Juarez, S.L.P., Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Maximina Reyes of Rockdale; three sons, Margarito Reyes and wife Maria of Thorndale, Luis Reyes and wife Melissa of Cleburne, Mauro Reyes and wife Maria Noelia of Buenavista, S.L.P., Mexico; six daughters, Maria Sanchez and husband Jose of Rockdale, Mariana Llanas and husband Joaquin of Dime Box, Maria DeJesus Reyes and husband Refugio of Rockdale, Silvia Gonzales and husband Cesar of Rockdale, Rosa Reyes of Rockdale, Anabel Portillo and husband Mario of Houston; one brother and three sisters; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive.
