Maria Julia Garza was born in George West, TX on November 22, 1932 to parents Pascual and Eluteria (Silvera) Garza. Maria married Esteban Pineda on November 9, 1954 in Littlefield, TX. Maria loved to sit outside on her front porch waiting for her children and grandchildren to stop by. When they did she would make them their favorite dish. She enjoyed to quilt and cross stich, and also enjoyed to listen to music and dance in her younger years. She was well known throughout the town as the Tamale Lady.
