Memorial services for Clyde Eugene Skoglund 81, of Eustace have been scheduled for September 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andre Ward officiating.
Private burial will take place at Moorehead Melton Cemetery near Eustace.
Mr. Skoglund passed away at his home with his family by his side, on August 30, 2018.
He was born January 1, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Oscar Nicholas and Hazel Emma Gaylor Skoglund. Clyde graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama and was a Veteran of the United States Navy and then served in the reserves. He loved the water and while serving was assigned to the SS Barton. He had resided in Dallas for many years then moved to Eustace in 1984. He retired from Frozen Food Express after a 30-year career. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eustace and was a Master Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Hazel Skoglund, sister; Winnie Ruth Skoglund, baby Skoglund at birth, brother; Raymond Earl Skoglund, wife; Paula Jean Reynolds Skoglund, step-daughter; Deborah Jean Garland Garner, son-in-law; Edward Payne.
Survivors include daughters; Melinda Leigh Gleber and husband Fred, Dallas; Kimberly Ann Payne, Athens; Karol Lynn Dyess and husband Robert, Eustace, Sons; Victor Stallsworth Skoglund and wife Angel, Louisville, KY., Brian Eugene Carrington and wife Tracy, Wylie, Benjamin Freeman Carrington and wife Kelsie, Waco, Jack Johnson Garland and wife Starlyn, Katy, Pamela Lynn Garland, Kemp, sister; Sandra Joy Lockhart, Pensacola, Florida., 17grandchilden, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
