HARTLEY, Paula

Paula Jean Hartley was born in Hubbard, Feb. 20, 1948 to Tom and Bonnie Smith. She grew up in Hubbard and was nine of nine siblings. She met her soul mate, James C. Hartley and they were married on Dec. 11, 1964 in the United Methodist Church Hubbard. They would have celebrated their 54th Anniversary in December this year.
A lifelong United Methodist Paula relied on her faith when told she would never have children. After 10 years of prayers she gave birth to twin daughters. She was a wonderful mother always grateful for the gift God had given her. Paula worked at Medical Arts Clinic working her way into management of the insurance department. She retired after 20 years. She then worked for the Navarro County Sheriff's Office as a civil deputy for a number of years. While at the NCSO she received her GED, something she had wanted to do for many years. Her family and she could not have been prouder of that achievement. Paula's strong, unbreakable faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the legacy she leaves her daughters.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Bonnie Smith of Corsicana, brothers, Roy Smith of Lancaster, Jack Smith of Irene, Loyd Smith and Tommy Smith both of Corsican and one sister Betty Smith of Corsicana.
