Letitia (Tish) Jordan Black passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Tish was born November 16, 1930, in Houston, Texas, to Maude Mae (Farmer) and William Henry Snow. She moved to Lexington, Texas, as a young child and graduated from Lexington schools. She married J.R. Jordan in 1948 and had four children whom she adored her entire life. After J.R. died in 1976, Tish married Bill Black in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington and sang alto in the choir and a trio for many years. Always happy, sweet and filled with grace, Tish loved spending time with friends and family. Nothing made her happier than holding a new grandbaby or visiting with her children. A great cook who loved food, Tish was always happy to cook a meal or share a recipe or try a new restaurant. She was the best friend; kind, sweet, a great listener and would do anything for you. Her door and her arms were always open and she will be greatly missed.
Tish is preceded in death by J.R. Jordan, four sisters, one brother and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Black, her adoring children, Gary Jordan (Cyndy), Linda Schwertner (Ray), Janet Jordan, and Julie Jordan (Stephanie). She spoiled 7 grandchildren, Wendy Adams, Marcy Moorhead, Russell Schwertner, Charles Pircher, Jr., Brandon Schwertner, Tish Hicks, Cody Schwertner, and 18 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Buckner Villas for their kindness and care of Tish for the past 9 years. Those wishing to donate in Tish’s honor, please donate to the First Baptist Church of Lexington or to a charity of your choice.
