Virginia Frances Collins was born Sept. 12, 1929, and died Sept. 15, 2018, in Granbury at 89 years of age.
Frances was born in Martins Mill to Albert and Gertrude Daniel. She married Floyd “PeeWee” Collins on April 12, 1947 in Athens, Texas. Frances loved to spend time with her family and love on her daughters, her grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren. She often cooked her “famous” chocolate pie and caramel pie for family gatherings. In her free time, she read many books, worked crossword puzzles and played Words with Friends, often beating both of her daughters. She enjoyed shopping and playing cards with her friends, going to the nail salon with Elaine and to the boats in Louisiana with Janie. In all she did, her family and friends referred to her as a classy lady.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, PeeWee, granddaughter Tammy McNeeley, and siblings Barbara Moosberg and Larry Mewbourn.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine McNeeley and husband Larry, Janie Stanfield and husband Ray; grandchildren, Dr. Wendy McNeeley of Brownwood, Daniel Stanfield of Granbury, Jeffrey Stanfield and wife Christi of Stephenville, and Jason Stanfield and wife Sally of Granbury; great-grandchildren, Blaire, Tanner, Cash, Kendall, Nolan, Anson, and Hollie; siblings, Richard Daniel and wife Rosemary, Myra Bryner and husband Charles, Cheryl Mewbourn and Chris along with several nieces, nephew and lots of friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury with visitation one hour prior to the service.
A second memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Kerens with Bro. Wes Johnson officiating.
