Edward “Dwain” Hubbard, of Heath, TX, since 1953, passed away September 17, 2018, at the age of 68. He was born December 30, 1949, in Grand Saline, TX, to Edward A. Hubbard and Opal Lee Martin. Dwain married the love of his life, Bobbie Jett, on February 16, 1972. He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1969 to 1975, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Proud of his hometown, he was always telling people he was from Rockwall and was a walking advertisement for Boots Burgers. Dwain was one of a kind never met a stranger. He was an avid golfer and the biggest sports fan, specifically the Rockwall Yellow Jackets and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, Dwain loved his family, especially his grandkids.
Dwain is survived by his loving wife of 46 years: Bobbie Jett Hubbard; daughter: Bridget Bartlett; sons: Clayton Hubbard and Clint Hubbard; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jack, Sarah and Mia Bartlett, Jett and Nash Hubbard and Case and Anna Hubbard; brother: Paul Hubbard and wife Pat; mother-in-law: Reba Jett; brother-in-law: Frank Jett; and sisters-in-law: Shelly Besterfieldt and Samantha Cosby; along with a host of loving relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Edward A. Hubbard; mother and stepfather: Opal and C.B. Sebastian; and brother: Allen Hubbard.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday, September 20, 2018, at First Baptist Church – Heath, 224 Smirl Drive, Heath, TX 75032, with Pastor Mark Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow at Heath Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the church Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
