HISE, Kenneth 'Shorty'

Kenneth Ray “Shorty” Hise, 90, of Greenville, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at his home.
His funeral service was Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Samuel Glenn and Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Interment was at Quinlan West Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Hise was born in Floyd, on Nov. 24, 1927. He was the son of Cleo Hise and Bertha Rogers Hise. He married Ava Ruth Humphreys on Sept. 3, 1965, in Oklahoma. He retired after 25 years from Raytheon, and after 21 years from University Park Independent School District. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church and VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Harold Hise and Rickey Hise; daughter, Vickie Hackney; step-son, Lee Jumper; sister, Maureen Stevens-Hilton; grandchildren, Brad Hise, Scott Hise, Ashley McCasland, Missena Clites, Amber Edgington, Matthew Hise, Melissa Duncan, Tayelor Pierce and Kelsey Hise; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, James “Bud” Hise, Helen Morris, Peggy Shanks, Dorothy Brown, Willy Break and Oscar Horn; and former wife, Bessie Wilson Strickland.
Pallbearers were Barry Choate, Terry Don Stevens, Steven Duncan, David Sasser, Dean Clites, Brad Hise and Juan Nito Guajardo. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Rector, Smith Gilley, Jerry Davis, Burk Bailey and Dewayne Patterson.
