Allen Lee Kennedy, 87, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m., at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Chaplain Chris Pope officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Kennedy was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Staton, to Harvie Kennedy and Emma Mae Palmer Kennedy. He married Sue McFarlin Aug. 25, 1951, in Greenville. He worked as a machinist for Texas Aluminum and Gardner Denver Ind. and a truck driver for the Texas Department of Transportation.
He was of the Baptist faith, and was a loving husband, a wonderful dad and grandad. He enjoyed the family get togethers because all his family was there. He was a rock for all of us and will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Kennedy; daughters, Carolyn Miller and Sheryl Johnson; brother, Jerry Kennedy; sister, Mary McCorkle; grandchildren, Ken Miller, Kimberly Miller, Joshua Johnson and Breanna Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Leta Fleming; and one brother, Louis Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Miller, Kody Miller, Colton Miller, T.J. Miller, Joshua Johnson, Ken Miller and Angel Barcenas.
