Ezequiel “Zeke” M. Flores, 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Service 11:00 AM, Monday, October 8, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation starting at 10:00 AM, Sunday, October 7, 2018 with the rosary beginning at 6:00 PM at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Zeke was born on August 22, 1945 in El Mulato, Mexico to Malaquias and Dominga Flores. He was extremely intelligent and was the Valedictorian of his high school class.
Zeke was introduced to Merced Peña by family at a school dance. They eloped on horseback on January 7, 1965 and he moved to the United States for love. He was very proud to be American and to learn English.
Zeke joined Brown and Root in 1968. He worked his way up to electrician and quality control inspector for Comanche Peak. He saved and invested and was able to retire early. Zeke was a humble, family man who taught his children the importance of taking pride in your work and being dependable. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Jesus, Pablita, and Eliazer.
Zeke is survived by his wife: Merced Flores, children: Nora Canales and husband Enrique, Norma E. Flores, Elma Flores, and Zeke Flores, grandchildren: Taylor Martin Brown, Mia Mercedes Flores, Zane Alexander Flores, and Kirstyn Grace Flores, siblings: Tomas Flores, Isidro Flores, Adan Flores, Maria Flores, Olivia Natera, and Eva Jordan, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
