HALL AUERBACH, Joan

Joan Marie Hall Auerbach, 71, of Athens, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2018. She and her twin brother John were born to E. D. Hall and Ruby Avery Hall on May 11th, 1947, in Athens, Texas. When they entered this world, they were completely and thoroughly adored by their eldest siblings Edward and Martha, along with the rest of the Hall family.
In 1965 Joan graduated from Athens High School with her two best friends Cissy Carroll Locke and Elaine Jackson Hellmich. They formed a bond that would last for a lifetime and both women were there for Joan throughout her life and her battle. She completed beauty school in 1967 and for the majority of her life she was a hair stylist. In the 1980s she opened a shop in Malakoff, Texas, that she still owned/operated until the time she could no longer continue. Joan developed many many cherished friendships with her clients and co-workers. Her other passions including playing golf, working in her yard and her Texas Rangers. She was the most incredible loving, caring and devoted mother anyone could ask for and the love she had for her friends and her family was fierce and will never be forgotten.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, E. D. Hall and Ruby Avery Hall, and her sisters, Lena Sue Hildebrand and Evelyn Hall Tanner. Joan is survived by her husband, G. C. (Coco) Auerbach Jr., daughter, Brandi Horton and husband Brady, her grandson Hudson and her step son Billy Brewer and wife Lori and their sons Peyton and Parker. Her brothers, Edward Hall and wife Dorothy, and John B. Hall and wife Vicki. Her sisters, Martha Mitchell and husband Jimmy and Ann Thomas and her husband Tony. She is also survived by her much loved friend, Delia Cope. Her surviving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and greats are too many to name. Although her family was large, she made her love and affection known to them all, especially to “her Hudson.”
A memorial/celebration of life has been planned for Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, at 10:30am at the First Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a donation in her name to the American Heart Association.
