It is with great sadness that the family of Leah Rae Gatlin, of New Boston, announces her passing on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the age of 73, after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Leah was a very successful woman. She retired from Bank of America after 42 years. She was a beloved mother, memaw and friend to many.
Leah will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen and husband Joe Thomason, Michael and wife Connie Landreth, Kathy and husband Larry Power. Leah will also be fondly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, Kimberly, Jeffery, Morgan, Jason, Jessica, Hope, Shelby, Marcus, Dalton, Anthony Kayleigh, Tristan, Taylor and Matt; and her 18 great-grandchildren.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis English and Inez English; her siblings, Curtis Jr., Donn, Charles; her son, John Morgan; and her husband and best friend, Johnny Gatlin.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, 6-8 p.m., at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, at 5100 Interstate 30, in Greenville. The Funeral Service in memory of Leah will be held Monday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m., at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Pastor Kelvin Prock officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m., in New Boston, at Godley Prairie Cemetery.
