Janet “Nana” Salter Wilhite

Janet “Nana” Salter Wilhite, 87, of Lake Tanglewood, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

No services are planned at this time.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Janet was born January 15, 1931, in Uvalde, TX to Otis and Reba Salter.  She lived in many places, but she considered Lake Tanglewood to be her home.  She enjoyed the nature and serenity it provided her the last 40+ years.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Turner, of Amarillo, Kathy Whitley, of Amarillo, and Linda Wisian; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Wilhite; and her grandson, Bleu Ogden.

The family suggests monetary memorials be made in her name to the Lake Tanglewood Lions Club, 100 Tanglewood Drive, Amarillo, TX 79118 and/or The Daughters of the Nile Foundation, https://donfdn.org.
