Lena Lue Reed Barnett, 84, was born in Greenville, on Oct. 13, 1934, to parents John Allen Reed and Dyras Clay Reed.
In 1953, she graduated from Carver High school. She married L.K. “Sudie” Barnett on Dec. 21, 1966. She worked as an aircraft electrician at E-Systems for many years, and was a business owner.
She departed this life Nov. 4, 2018.
She is survived by her children: Don Reed, Ron Reed and Ricky Barnett, all of Greenville, Leland K. Barnett (Isabel) of Rockwall, Gerald Barnett (Angie) of Mesquite, and Felicia Barnett Neal (Yuel) of Forney. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Reed of California; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Vicki Reed; a son, Dwayne Reed, Sr.; two sisters; and five brothers.
Her home going services will be Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, at 1602 Joe Ramsey Blvd., in Greenville. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Love & Integrity Funeral and Cremation Service, at 4900 King St., in Greenville. The Barnett family will be at the funeral home Friday, 5:30-7 p.m., to receive visitors.
