HAWLEY, Clarence

Clarence William (C. W.) Hawley, Jr., long time resident of Greenville, Texas passed away Nov. 7, 2018, in North Richland Hills, Texas at 91 years old.
Funeral services will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, at 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
C.W. was born April 23, 1927, in Texarkana, Ark., to Clarence and Mabel Hawley. He graduated high school in Lone Oak, Texas, and later graduated from East Texas State University. C. W. served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946, and served in the Army from 1951-1953. He later worked at Raytheon for 37 years until retiring in 1991. He was an active member and deacon at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville for several years.
He married the love of his life, Mary Evelyn Nash, on Nov. 23, 1960. Together, they raised her four sons, who he is survived by: James Ervin of Rockwall, Texas, Tom Ervin of Greenville, Texas, Richard Ervin and wife Terri of Keller, Texas and John (Buddy) Ervin and wife Carroll of Ennis, Texas. C. W. is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren all of whom he adored.
C. W. was a humble man that loved his Lord and Savior. He loved his family and he was always content with what he was blessed with.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his brother, Ray Hawley; his aunt, Ethel Martindale; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ervin and granddaughter Judy Ervin.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brandon Ervin, Heath Ervin, Cody Ervin, Jared Ervin, and grandsons-in-law Paul Holland, Brad Kubin and Eddie Yates. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Ervin of Rockwall, Texas and Josh Ervin of London, England.
