This is the story of Derenda Menissa Whitten

Derenda was a beautiful, wonderful, caring woman that was Loved and will always be cherished and missed, our MeMe as she liked to be called by her grandchildren.

Derenda’s story started on November 10, 1970 as the 2nd youngest of 5 siblings to Don and Joyce Haire. Derenda was born in Groom, Texas and as a young girl, Don and Joyce moved around a lot to which Derenda made many life-long friends. Derenda would graduate from Hedley High School in 1989 as the Valedictorian and while in High School met the Love of her life and High School sweetheart, Jay Whitten. Derenda and Jay had a whirlwind romance and were married August 5, 1989 at the Baptist church in Hedley, Texas. Derenda and Jay started their family immediately and had 3 beautiful children, Danielle Justine, Jerrett Matthew and Mason Dakotah Whitten.

Derenda was a stay at home mother who raised their children up to be wonderful, caring people. Once the kids became of school age, Derenda started her career in the medical field and worked at multiple hospitals ending her career with Vibra Hospital.

Derenda’s grandchildren were her heart, soul and joy and there was no denying that. Her grandbabies, as she called them, were the people she loved the most. Time spent at MeMe’s house was very special for her grandbabies.

Loved ones that cleared the path for Derenda are her father, Don Doyle Haire and her mother, Joyce Jo Selby Haire.
