Geneva Belle Atkins went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Mount Pleasant, Texas at the age of 95. Geneva was born on August 1, 1923 in Dodsonville, TX to Carl Raines and Mamie “Muddy” (Wisdom) Raines. Services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the North Ridge Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. with visitation with the family one hour prior to the service. She was a member of the North Ridge Church of Christ and a faithful servant of Christ. She was baptized into Christ at the age of 12, having been taken to church as far back as she could remember by her beloved mother “Muddy.” She was frustrated when Parkinson’s disease robbed her of her physical ability to serve, but she was still an inspiration to all those who knew & loved her. Geneva was married to her “best friend”, John Robert Atkins on March the 4th, 1944. John preceded her in death in 2003, having been married 59 years. To this marriage was born six daughters. Geneva is survived by and will be greatly missed by daughters Wynelle Stamper, Diana Tafoya, Johnnie and Gaylon Cameron, Janice and George Billings all of Mount Pleasant, and Janelle and Robert Linker of Quitman, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Margaret Scrivner, sons-in-law, Jay Green and Richard Tafoya, grandchildren, Stephen Stamper, Renee Stamper Ross, Erin Bailey, Kevin Hightower & Clayton Cameron and by a great grandson Conner Tafoya.
