Dorothy Louise Wiley Fleming, age 63, returned to her heavenly home on April 24, 2020 in Athens, Texas due to complications of cancer, which she had been battling for 11 years. Her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Dorothy was born on May 4, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Wanda Wiley, sister Phyllis Carty, husband Mike Howell, John Mitchell, and Robert Fleming. Dorothy is survived by her children including Jeremy Howell of Dallas, Tx, Benjamin Howell and Nicole of Ft. Worth, Tx, Christi Howell of Lockhart, Tx, and James Summitt II of Cedar Creek, Tx; her brother Richard Wiley and Jan of Athens, Tx; and 12 grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
Dorothy loved to read her Bible, praying for and with others, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of First Christian Church of Athens, Texas. A public Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 on May 31, 2020 at First Christian Church, Athens, TX to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church in Athens, Texas or Lila Lane Men’s Outreach in Athens, Texas.
