Julia Roberta Jacobsen, age 81, of Crockett, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020 in the UT Health Hospital in Tyler. Julia was born March 30, 1939 in Southampton, England to parents, William Robert Thompson and Alice Burt Thompson. She was raised in England and during World War II during the bombing of England, she talked about hiding under a table trying to survive. Julia came to the United States on a boat and the table came with her. She worked as an assistant director for Transworld Airlines for many years before moving to Houston where she got a job with Transamerica and Continental Cargo. After moving to Crockett, Julia and her late husband, Ralph owned and operated Discount Beverage for many years and was well known in Houston County.  She loved to read Danielle Steel books and had read every book published by her.

Julia is survived by son, Shea Selders and Jessica of Crockett; grandson, Colby Selders of Warrensburg, Missouri; many other family and friends including her England family. She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Jacobsen in April, 2000.
