Jesse Clair Hay, Jr, age 77, of Pipe Creek, Texas passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at home in Pipe Creek.

He was born March 16th, 1943 on the Tip of Texas in The Lower Rio Grande Valley (RGV) in the city of Mission, Texas. Jesse went to RGV schools in San Benito, Harlingen and Edinburg where he started to emulate James Dean a little too much and was sent to the San Marcos Military Academy.

He was an Air Force Veteran who served his country in the late 1960’s as an Airman First Class and completed his service at Brooks Air Force Medical Base in San Antonio.

Jesse earned a retirement from his position with the City of Austin Electric Company in 2007. Prior to that he worked with Brown & Root and Valley Weather Makers.

Jesse enjoyed fishing, motorcycle touring, vintage cars, and traveling with his brother Jim.

He was the son of the late Carrie Pauline Fortson and Jesse Clair Hay and was predeceased in death by his wife Carrolyn June (Loyd) Hay. They had one daughter Lora Lynn (Hay) Hooper of Austin, Texas.

Jesse is survived by his brother James (Jim) Warren Hay of Pipe Creek.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Bandera, Texas (date/time/location to be announced).

Jesse didn’t prefer flowers or memorial contributions, rather he’d of just asked that we show kindness to and share generosity with one another.
