Mason, Russell

On Sunday June 6, 2021, Russell Dell Mason lost his battle with the dreaded disease diabetes and will be sorely missed. Russell was born in Fort Worth, Texas on September 19, 1969 to Claudia and Larry Mason. He was 51 years old and he leaves behind three wonderful children, Jacob Mason of Benbrook and twins Meagan and Sarah Mason of Alvord
Russell grew up in Parker County. He graduated from Weatherford High School in 1988. Russell grew up living a very active lifestyle first riding BMX bicycles and later dirt bikes. He entered a few races, but he enjoyed riding trails with friends even more. Russell continued his outdoor life with camping, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Eventually he discovered scuba diving which became a passion for him especially after he became a dive master.
Russell had a strong independence streak and preferred being his own boss. So he branched out to create his own company Mason SignCrafters that he ran for years. Though his health prevented him from enjoying the outdoors as much in his later years, he never stopped trying. Russell lived his life on his own terms and created many memories with his friends. Bring these memories to the service and let us all share them.
In addition to his children, survivors include his parents Larry and Claudia Mason, his brother Randall Mason and his wife Bethlyn and their children Cassie and Jesse as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. May Russell's memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
Service for Russell will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Weatherford at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel located at 913 N. Elm St. Visitation with the family will begin one hour earlier at 10:00 AM.
Burial will take place later at 2:00 PM Friday in Oakwood Cemetery in his mother's hometown of Jacksboro, Texas.
