CALHOUN, Linnie Kenneth

Linnie Kenneth Calhoun, age 88, of Athens, made his entrance to his heavenly home on July 11, 2021. He was born in Athens on January 20, 1933 to Linnie Calhoun, and Helen Selana (Overton) Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Calhoun; daughter, Deborah Calhoun Simms; sisters, Shirley Taylor and Doris Crabtree; brother, Douglas Haygood.
Linnie grew up in Athens and graduated from Athens High School. He worked hard all his life, as a brick layer, carpenter and then worked on the assembly line for Ford Motor Company for 30 plus years until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to fish, go camping, hunt and working with his cows. Linnie loved the Lord and his church. He served as a deacon at Oak Crest Baptist church in Dallas, and then in later years at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro. He loved genealogy and learning more about his dear family that he adored. Paw will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his sons, Dudley Calhoun and wife Marcia, Dolan Calhoun; grandchildren, Cindy Atchley, Bryan Simms, Dustin Calhoun, Chelsie Calhoun, Joshua Calhoun, Christopher Calhoun and Chad Emsoff; great grandchildren, Chloe Atchley, Christina Simms, Payton Calhoun, Jaci Calhoun, Addison Calhoun and Braidyn Wheat; great- great grandchildren, Brynlee Stewart and Georgia Rainy; brother, Leroy Calhoun and wife Barbara; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Autry's Carroll- Lehr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday July 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel. Burial to follow at Shelby Chapel Cemetery.
