John Martin ?Jack? Pence went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 17, 2013. Jack was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on June 15, 1926 to John Martin and Laura Paul Pence. After graduating from Washington High School in June of 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Register during World War II, in the South Pacific Theatre. Jack married Henrietta Affleck on July 4, 1947. After the war, he studied interior design at the Art Movement Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating in 1949, Jack worked for twenty-five years with his father at John Pence & Son, Painting and Decorating. After his father?s death, he worked at Washington Paint and Glass until 1973, when he and Henrietta moved to Texas. Jack worked for twenty-five years as a manager with Weiner?s Stores until his retirement in 1996. After he retired, Jack worked as a greeter with Walmart until December of 2009. Jack is survived by his wife, Henrietta, three children; Sherry Pence Bryant (married to John L. Bryant), John B. ?Jack? Pence (married to Bernadette Delestienne), and James H. ?Jim? Pence (married to Laurel Lindholm). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Patrick Bryant, Jennifer Bryant Manuel, Nathan Bryant, John B. ?Jack? Pence Jr., Christopher James Pence, and Charlene Pence. Jack had nine great-grandchildren: Jack Darian Manuel, Geneva Manuel, Patricia Bryant, Connor Bryant, Kylie Bryant, Trinity Bryant, Raegan Bryant, Elaina Pence, and Reagan Pence. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Pence.A memorial service for Jack will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Brown?s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. Burkett, age 100 of Irving, Texas died on December, 17 2013. She was born on June 23, 1913 in Bogata, Texas to Emmett Loy Wicks and Ruth Ragsdill. Euba was known for her crocheting talents and loved by all. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ollie Lee Burkett; and daughter Janice Lee O?Quinn. Euba will be missed by her sons Jimmy Burkett and wife Christine of Irving; Tommy Burkett and wife Shirley of Mount Vernon; daughter Carolyn Randle of Irving along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 am in Brown?s Memorial Chapel with interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour before funeral service at 10 am. The family requests memorial donations be made to Irving First United Methodist Church General Fund
